Beef Bourguignon

This is a low cost version of the classic French Beef Bourguignon, most things you likely already have in your pantry. This comes together in under 15 minutes for a quick supper. You can make rice or noodles fresh for it, or if you have leftovers reheat them. I've also eaten this with just part of a baguette. For ideas on what to do with the rest of the ground beef, try a Tostada, Spinach Meatball Minestrone or Greek Meatball Soup. I enjoy this with a salad or veggie.

  • Heat oil in pan over medium heat for about a minute
  • Add ground meat, breaking it up and brown
  • Add flour and let it brown a little
  • Add wine, onion, mushrooms, garlic and spices
  • Let come together over low heat for about 5 minutes
  • Pour over noodles or rice
